Brighten up
A flame creates a special atmosphere in a room – lit candles make the mood as well as the temperature rise. Regardless of you preferring a classic, sober tablesetting with antique candles or a more colorful or trendy one, we have something for you.

Below you find some helpful tips for candle use.

  • Candles should be kept cool, dry and dust-free and preferably away from light. This is to stop bending.
  • Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets.
  • Always put candles on a stable, heat-resistant base.
  • Trim candlewicks to 1-1,5 cm each time before burning. Long or crooked wicks cause uneven burning and dripping.
  • Keep drafts well away. This will help prevent rapid, uneven burning, and avoid flame flare-ups and sooting.
  • Place burning candles 10 cm or more apart from one another. This is to make sure they don't melt one another, or create their own drafts that will cause the candles to burn improperly.
  • Never burn a candle on or near anything that can catch fire; furniture, drapes, bedding, carpets, paper, flammable decorations, etc.
  • If burning is one-sided, then gently push over the burning wick to the side. Never bend a wick that has hardened – it will break off.
  • Put out the candle by gently blowing or just dip the wick into the liquid wax. Using a candle snuffer is too a good way to prevent hot wax from splattering. Straighten the wick afterwards.
  • Always keep a burning candle within sight. Extinguish all candles when leaving a room or before going to sleep.
