The challenges the world is currently facing with climate change and air, land and water pollution are not problems of some distant future, but they are here today and must be dealt with now.

Natural resources are being used up more quickly than they can be replaced, so there is simply no more waiting around for answers. Therefore, to meet today’s challenges, we must use the solutions of tomorrow. And that is the essence of the Duni ecoecho™ range.

In our Duni ecoecho™ range for serving and meal solutions products, we use the best materials available with the goal of limiting the use of non-renewable resources to reduce our CO2 footprint. These products have been developed with the environment in mind and are chosen for having one or more environmentally improved characteristics. These focus on different environmental aspects and parts of the product’s life-cycle. The characteristics that we focus on in the producs are: Resource Efficiency, Renewable, Compostable and Responsible Forestry.

Materials that make a difference

Bagasse
Natural fibrous sugar production residue (from sugarcane stalks). Our bagasse fibre plates are fully compostable. Bagasse is an outstanding example of efficient use of natural resources.

Cardboard
Cardboard has a low carbon footprint per kilogram. Most of our ecoecho cardboard products are also FSC-certified from responsible forestry, making it a very good environmental choice.

CPLA (Crystallised Polyactid Acid)
CPLA is compostable and made of 100% natural and renewable materials. Unlike many other BIO materials, it is heat resistant up to 80 degrees, making it an excellent material for cutlery.

PBS (Polybutylene succinate)
One of the most advanced biopolymers. It has properties like normal plastic, but it is compostable.

PLA (Polyactic Acid)
Compostable material made from cornstarch and very similar to polystyrene, so it is clear and presents fresh food in its best light.

rPET
Our serving platters and lids are made from rPET, which is actually recycled plastic water-bottles.
