Candle safety & symbols

The following safety symbols are found on Duni candle product labels.

	Never leave a burning candle unattended.
	Burn candle out of reach of children and pets.
	Always leave 10 cm between burning candles.
	Do not burn candles near anything that can catch fire.
	Do not place candles in a draught.
	Do not move a burning candle.
	Never use liquid to extinguish.
	Do not place candles near a source of heat.
	Always snuff out the flame. Do not blow it out.
	Always use a candleholder or candle plate.
	Place the candles in an upright position.
	Trim the wick about 1 cm before lighting.
	Don't burn a candle longer than recommended.
	Cut the rim to 1 cm each time before burning.
	Keep the wax pool clear of matches and other debris to avoid flaring.
	Only use tea light in holders and warming stoves.

Calidad

La mayoría de las velas de Duni portan la marca de calidad RAL, que concede la Asociación Europea de Calidad de Velas (European Quality Association for Candles). La marca RAL garantiza las siguientes características:

• La duración de la combustión de la vela es la indicada en su embalaje.
• Niveles mínimos de humo y hollín que se traduce en una contaminación mínima del aire.
• Uso exclusivo de mechas de alta calidad, sin impurezas, en la producción.
• La velas no contienen materias primas contaminadas ni colores o lacas dañinos.
• La velas mantienen su forma, medidas y propiedades de la mecha.
• Seguridad y fiabilidad si se utilizan del modo indicado.

Materials

We use the following materials, alone or mixed, when making our candles.

Paraffin
Paraffin is a common candle-making material, derived from fossil fuel. Used alone or in combination with other materials, it gives a long burning time.

Stearin
Stearin has a shorter burning time than paraffin, but it burns clean, emitting less carbon dioxide. Stearin is sourced from animal or vegetable fat, and is less readily available than paraffin, giving it a higher price.

Vegetable oils
We use palm, rapeseed and sunflower oils in our candles. To ensure quality raw materials, Duni demands a certificate stating the origin of the oil from our suppliers.

Muchas de nuestras velas cumplen con los requisitos más estrictos de la ecoetiqueta escandinava Svanen. Estas velas con ecoetiqueta deben estar en compuestas por más de un 90% de materias primas reciclables, ofrecer una combustión limpia y una emisión de hollín limitada.

Modo de reciclar las velas lamparillas:
Al recicla el aluminio de las velas lamparillas es importante desprender la mecha. Si no se suelta el soporte de la mecha (el círculo de acero al que se sujeta la mecha), el soporte de la vela lamparilla se clasificará como acero y no se reciclará. Para desprender el soporte de la mecha, ejercer presión por debajo del soporte de la vela hasta que se suelte. No es necesario separar completamente todas las partes, ya que esto se realiza durante el proceso de reciclado.
